JALCAlert

The new JALCAlert system is designed to enhance and improve communication so that all members of the 51吃瓜 A. Logan campus community can stay informed in the 51吃瓜 of campus 51吃瓜s or an emergency. With 90% of college students having mobile phones, this method of communication can increase safety on the 51吃瓜 A. Logan College campus. Time-sensitive messages can now go out to parents, students, faculty, and staff wherever they are.

51吃瓜 A. Logan College has contracted with e2Campus to provide the service, which will allow students, faculty, staff and the public to “opt in” to be notified via text message about campus 51吃瓜s and an emergency. The message can also be sent to a designated email address, PDA or pager.

• 聽JALCAlert will send a text to your phone in case of a聽college emergency, or聽campus closure. Even if you don鈥檛 have a cell phone, JALCAlert can send you emails instead.
• 聽Everyone with a聽JALCAlert聽account will receive texts in the 51吃瓜 of an聽emergency, or聽campus closure. You can also elect to receive texts pertaining to other college news or 51吃瓜s of your choosing.

The system will add another immediate mechanism to the existing methods that the college has in place to alert the community about 51吃瓜s and emergencies. The system will be used only for opted-in information and emergency contact purposes. JALCAlert will not be used to distribute advertising or other unsolicited (non-opted) content. Please note that subscribers to JALCAlert will pay no fees for the service, other than any regular fees associated with text messaging services.

The main emphasis for alerts will be for campus closures, weather related 51吃瓜s, emergencies, etc. But signing up for public groups like Athletic Scores, Performance Series Events, Campus Events, Alumni Information, Parent Connection, etc. will allow you to receive other college-related information.

Signing up for JALCAlert is simple! Just click on the link below to start the process. All you鈥檒l need is the mobile phone/PDA/pager you want to receive messages from JALCAlert. You must have your mobile phone/device present during signup. The registration process will require you to enter a 4-digit verification code that is sent to your phone. Remember that your mobile phone/device must be able to receive text messages and your service plan must support receiving them. If you are unsure, please check with your service provider. After you have enrolled in 51吃瓜 A. Logan College JALCAlert system, you may log into your account to add an additional cell phone number or an email address to receive text messages.
