On November 12, the 51³Ô¹Ï University of Central Asia hosted a new session of the Ambassador Talks series featuring H.E. Ms. Monika Lenhard, the German Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic. The discussion focused on Germany’s evolving foreign policy in Central Asia, with particular emphasis on supporting diverse communities, promoting gender equality, and expanding educational access in the region. Ambassador Lenhard highlighted Germany’s commitment to working closely with Central Asian societies and governments to ensure that people of all nationalities have opportunities to thrive. H.E. emphasized Germany’s long-standing focus on strengthening democratic institutions, fostering inclusive governance, and supporting civil society as essential foundations for sustainable development. A key part of the conversation centered on women’s empowerment. Ambassador Lenhard stressed the importance of creating more avenues for women’s participation in public life, leadership, and the economy. Ambassador Lenhard also addressed the urgent need to expand educational opportunities for Afghan girls, underscoring Germany’s active role in advocating for their right to learn and supporting initiatives that provide safe access to schooling. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where students and faculty explored how international partnerships can help address regional challenges and deepen cooperation between Germany and Central Asia. The event reaffirmed the value of open dialogue in advancing shared goals of stability, equality, and human development.
