AUCA Library Team Attends the World Library and Information Congress 2025 in Astana

On 18-22 August, the AUCA librarians Jyldyz Bekbalaeva, Tolgonai Kozhokanova, and Madina Kerimova attended the 89th IFLA World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) 2025 in Astana.Ìý , organized annually by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), is a premier international conference dedicated to advancing the profession’s commitment to providing high-quality library and information services and ensuring equitable access to information.Ìý This year’s Congress gathered over 1600 delegates from 114 countries,Ìý creating a unique platform for networking, professional exchange, and global collaboration.
As the leading international body for the library and information sector, IFLA represents the interests of libraries, information services, and their users, with a member network spanning more than 150 countries.Ìý
The AUCA Library team actively participated in numerous sessions, workshops, and meetings, gaining valuable insights into emerging trends, innovative practices, and global challenges in the library and information field. Their engagement not only strengthened AUCA’s presence within the international library community but also enriched the team’s expertise to better serve the academic community.Ìý
Special recognition went to Tolgonai Kozhokanova and Madina Kerimova, who were selected as recipients of the to participate in IFLA WLIC 2025. This prestigious grant is awarded to promising professionals who demonstrate leadership potential and a strong commitment to advancing the library and information field.
